Children of Eden is a two-act musical play with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by John Caird.  The musical is based on the Book of Genesis.  Act 1 tells the story of Adam and Eve, Cain, and Abel, and Act 2 deals with Noah and the Flood.

Children of Eden was originally written in 1986 as Family Tree for a production by Youth Sing Praise, a religious-oriented high school theatre camp performed at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.  Stephen Schwartz adapted the script and music of Family Tree into a full-length musical, giving it the title it uses today.

It seems especially fitting that the first rock opera, created as a concept album at the end of the turbulent '60s, should have at its center a social and political rebel.  Jesus' meteor-like rise in renown provides, as the title suggests, a parallel to contemporary celebrity worship.  As his radical teachings are evermore embraced, Judas increasingly questions the enlightened motives of this new prophet, resulting in betrayal.  Christ's final days are dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge and explosive theatricality.  Propelled by a stirring score, by turns driving and majestic, satirical and tender, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart - just in time for Ressurection Sunday!

Book:  Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
Music and Lyrics: Frank Loesser
Based on The Idyll of Sarah Brown and characters by Damon Runyon

Frank Loesser's celebrated musical comedy about rolling the dice and falling in love under the bright lights of Broadway.  Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys And Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler Nathan Detroit tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend, nightclub performer Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for 14 years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the dough, but Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown. Guys And Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.   Frank Loesser's brassy, immortal score makes Guys And Dolls a crowd pleaser.
